This is the story of BoxTree customer Rachel and her 8-year-old daughter, Isla, who created a special box for Dad’s 40th Birthday. We loved their story so much that we asked Rachel if we could publish a blog about it! Here’s their story:
“I’d only recently heard about BoxTree through a recommendation, but as soon as I logged onto the website I realised that it would be a great, user-friendly shopping experience for my 8-year-old daughter, Isla. Like many others, we’re avoiding unnecessary shopping trips and being able to shop digitally with Isla means that she isn’t tempted to touch items as she makes up her mind.
Isla was easily able to click on gifts and read their descriptions before adding them to the basket. She particularly enjoyed practicing her typing when writing out her Birthday message which would be handwritten by BoxTree in the accompanying card.
She loved receiving the box in the post and giving it to her Dad. And he loved that she’d picked all his gifts and was amazed to see that his box included The Little Coffee Bag Company coffee that he had discovered on a recent trip to Cornwall. He was so impressed with the quality of the packaging and the convenience of gifts being ordered and wrapped, and a card being written and included, that he’s since ordered gifts from BoxTree as well!
From my point of view, I’ve been actively trying to support small and local businesses as the year has progressed, so BoxTree’s championing of independents is a big plus point for me. I also like the range of gifts available, from small 'pick me ups' to more substantial items, meaning you can really tailor your box to any recipient.
At this time, I think small comforts like a cup of really good tea, or writing notes with a nice pencil and notebook, or having soft cosy socks on, can make a big difference to our mood. Not to mention my favourite of BoxTree’s items – the SpaceMask – which is the gift of an enjoyable and relaxing 15 minutes! Finally, something that’s caught my eye from your winter range is the winter gin… which I may have to try myself!
